Every new or returning Lynn Public Schools student starts at the district’s Welcome Center at 195 Market Street, and online registration for the 2026–2027 school year is open, with materials in several languages.

Here is where to start, which documents to bring, how snow days are announced and how school buses work.

Start at the Welcome Center

All new students and students re-entering the district begin at the Lynn Public Schools Welcome Center, which handles online and in-person registration.

Online registration for the 2026–2027 school year is open and the Welcome Center offers materials in multiple languages; families can also make in-person appointments by phone.

  • District office / Welcome Center: 195 Market Street, Lynn, MA 01901.
  • Main phone: (781) 593-1680.

Documents, languages and checklists

The district posts a ‘Required Documents’ checklist that spells out what families must bring to register.

Checklists and some registration forms are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Kreyòl.

  • Typical required items listed include a birth certificate or I-94, up-to-date immunizations, proof of residency and a parent/guardian photo ID.
  • Translated registration checklists are on the district site for the 2026–2027 school year.

School-year calendars, holidays and snow days

The district posts its school-year calendars on lynnschools.org; check there for holidays, early release days and the last day of school.

When weather or other emergencies affect the schedule, Lynn Public Schools uses SchoolMessenger and maintains a Snow Emergency Information page that explains how closings and delayed openings are announced and how start and dismissal times are affected.
