Centro de Lectura offers free dyslexia evaluations in October
The confidential assessments take about an hour and are open to anyone from age 5 through adulthood, according to Lynn Community TV.
Centro de Lectura Familiar is offering free dyslexia evaluations all through October to anyone from age 5 through adulthood, according to an announcement shared by Lynn Community TV.
The organization said the evaluations are confidential and usually take about one hour. They can be done in person or online.
Each assessment includes a questionnaire for the family and a phonemic awareness screening that uses David Kilpatrick’s PAST tool. Participants also read a brief passage and spell pseudowords, which are nonsense words.
The organization has not yet chosen an in-person location. Online assessments are held over Google Meet.
Centro de Lectura Familiar was recently started by Danissa Lopez and Victor L’Esperance. It describes itself as bilingual and able to help families in Spanish.
Families who want an evaluation can call 978-476-6754 to make an appointment.
